I'm Greger Stetz, an architect based in Malmö, Sweden.
Here, I share updates on our projects and explore various ideas related to architecture, city planning, and their intersections with science and other disciplines.
Feel free to ask any questions and selected questions I will answer here!
We are launching our new architecture course, designed to help you create your own project drawings and submit them as a building permit application. The application process is adapted to the Swedish system, but the architectural theory part of the course is relevant regardless of location.
Can I draw my own architectural drawings?
Yes, you can.
In Sweden, there are no formal requirements that building permit drawings must be prepared by an architect. However, many municipalities require that the drawings are professionally executed. That’s why we have developed this online course for ambitious individuals who want to design and prepare their own projects. The course provides the skills you need to produce architectural drawings for smaller projects using simple tools. It can also be valuable for students or young architects, as it gives a clear overview of the building permit process – from ordering a new site plan to receiving the start notice. This part is often not covered in detail during academic studies. As a younger architect, you’ll also gain the ability to perform such assignments for private clients. The course consists of two parts. You can take just one if you prefer, but to complete a full project successfully, we recommend attending both.
